On this page you will find our upcoming workshops and extra curricular classes – normally held on the weekends. Our aim is to build a comprehensive weekend workshop and class programme at Lift. This will allow us to cover all of the amazing elements of our methodology that we can’t necessarily cover when the studio is open. Our workshops will include Rope Flow and rotational movement training , Breathwork and Skill intensives. Our workshops are available to everyone and not just to members, making them perfect if you are not local to Lift but wish to experience the studio and its quality coaching over the weekend. We also host elite coaches from across the globe for their own workshops. Information for these events will also be available on this page as and when the events are scheduled.
We are excited to announce our first ever ladies only event aimed at getting more girls on the rings!
Ladies Rings Workshop
Saturday 12th March 2:30 – 4:30pm
We are excited to announce our first ever ladies only event aimed at getting more girls on the rings! The workshop will be taken by Lift’s own Queen of the rings Kat Samuelson and has been designed to break down some of the perceived barriers that stop ladies from taking up the practice. Upper body strength is always cited as a major blocker with the girls, and Kat and her team will be there to support you in a safe environment as you explore your potential. The rings will develop your upper body strength, mobility, core, balance and confidence. The day will include an introduction to the rings along with goal setting. Then you will be taken through scapular and core conditioning in detail before moving on to mobilisation, skin the cat with the final section covering how to build strength on the rings using dips and pull ups. The workshop is aimed at beginner and complete beginners so no previous experience is required.

PRESS HANDSTAND INTENSIVE

For Lift’s first collaborative skill intensive we welcome accomplished coach Tom Merrick aka. The Bodyweight Warrior to Lift for a special 3-part workshop series. The first series will focus on the much sought after Press Handstand. Each 2-hour workshop will breakdown the individual components required in order to perform this skill confidently and efficiently with the final session focussing on integrating these components.Our first workshop opens with ‘strength’ where students will be taken through the strength components that make up the press. At the end of the workshop homework will be set for you to practice over the course of the following month. Our next workshop will address the ‘flexibility’ elements that are so vital, yet often missed when it comes to pressing to handstand. Once again homework will be set to prepare you for the final and most important element – ‘integration’. In this final workshop Tom will piece the puzzle together and show you his favourite skills and drills to work towards achieving that first press. If you already are training for your press and struggling to hit that sweet spot, then this is the workshop for you.You can attend each workshop as a single to focus on your weaknesses or purchase all 3 as a package over 3 months.

Join us on Saturday the 12th February 2022 to unlock your body and find your flow for the third beginners Rope Workshop. Since introduced to us as a practice by Way Of The Rope during summer 2020 it has become a staple in our training, and we now want to share this with you at Lift. There is nothing like rolling the rope – it is a physically rewarding, moving meditation that will add a new dimension to your practice. The rope will develop your mobility, core, coordination, agility, balance and speed. The beginners workshop covers how to set up the rope, the mechanics and benefits of the rope, overhand figure of 8, underhand figure of 8, dragon roll and transitions.

Join us on Saturday the 26th February 2022 to unlock your body and find your flow for our second Intermediate Rope Workshop. Since introduced to us as a practice by Way Of The Rope during summer 2020 it has become a staple in our training, and it has been wonderful to see students picking up the rope and making such fast improvements. With the skill levels quickly rising we have put together this workshop to delve deeper into the practice, develop and link more complex patterns, and fine tune your flow.
